Microsoft to revamp portal software (CNET)
Microsoft will make over the software that could make it easier for businesses to build portal Web sites. SharePoint, which is expected to ship in mid 2003, will help non-technical employees build corporate portals on their own.

Casting a line for service providers (InfoWorld)
In Web services, there is a battle brewing among Microsoft's .NET framework, Sun's ONE platform and Linux for the hearts and minds, and wallets of Web-hosting service providers. Microsoft is likely to keep developing tools for this industry so it can gauge implementation.
