THE MISSING LINK
Mobile e-mail saves polar explorer's life

Forget about the American Express card. These days you might not want to leave home without your Internet connection. When explorer David Mill wound up on thin ice during a recent North Pole expedition his mobile Net hookup bailed him out. Mill was trapped on an ice floe and being stalked by a polar bear when he e-mailed Canadian rescue teams a digital photo of his location. A chopper answered Mill's call and plucked him from danger. Just think what Columbus could've discovered had he only had a BlackBerry!
