NEWS
Microsoft security chip open to discussion (IDG News)
Microsoft says it's willing to license the Palladium security chip to any software manufacturer, but if the software isn't certified, Palladium won't work. Palladium would be Microsoft's chip in the security game -- a chip installed to shore up security and control what software is run. It's still in "consultation mode" right now -- MS expects to crank out some white papers in a few weeks.

THE MISSING LINK
eBay user buys empty can for $15

Remember when Jim Croce wanted to put "time in a bottle"? If only he had put air into a can -- he could have made a fortune. Evidently a market for such a thing exists. Someone paid $15 for a can of air on eBay. Granted it was Saskatchewan air, an inviting blend of oxygen and nitrogen with lesser amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, neon, helium and other gases packed fresh from the Great White North. An American woman bought the can after 10 days of bidding. She said she'd never been to Saskatchewan, and who wouldn't want some air from there?
