MS to ship Windows Server for Itanium 2 later this month (CRN)
Microsoft has some 64-bit news to report. Now that Intel has unleashed Itanium 2, Microsoft says the second version of Windows server for Itanium (Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition 1.2) will be ready for server manufacturers this month, with a pair of 64-bit versions of Windows.NET and an updated Windows XP client for Itanium 2 right on its heels.
