AD MIGRATION: UPGRADE VS. RESTRUCTURE | by James Michael Stewart

Moving from a Windows NT-based domain to a Windows 2000 Active
Directory-based domain brings numerous benefits. In this tip, I'll
focus on how to make decisions about the upgrade process itself.

When moving from NT domains to Active Directory domains, there are
two possible methods you can use: upgrading or restructuring. These
are two independent activities but they can be combined in sequential
order if desired.

SETTING UP A DC & AD FOR EXCHANGE 2000 | Ask the Expert

A SearchWindows2000 user recently asked: "I have one NT 4.0 (alpha)
server. This server is low and doesn't have any disk space to spare.
It is the PDC (no BDC in the organization) and it has Exchange 5.0 SP
2 installed on it. We purchased a new server (Intel), and we want the
new server to be the DC, ADS (only DC in the organization) and run
Exchange 2000 on it. My question is, how do I get it done?"
