Microsoft's SMS may get a boost in the next few weeks. A Microsoft watcher says a pair of feature packs will be out within two or three weeks, bringing some important management features with them.

Two new BizTalk accelerators in the offing (CRN)
If you're hungry for a new HIPPA accelerator, Microsoft is about to feed you. The company is getting ready to roll out two new accelerators for BizTalk integration server, including an updated version for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. The HIPAA accelerator will ship in the next few days. A new BizTalk accelerator for financial services will be released in November.

Windows 2000 earns international security certification (CNET)
Windows 2000 has earned a safety badge. The OS has won Common Criteria certification after Microsoft proved the key software components of Windows 2000 meet a certain level of security. The certification, which is based on Department of Defense specs, does not mean that the OS is bugless, but that its development and support processes meet the Common Criteria standards.
