Office 2000 upgrade only allows admins to log on
Dear Jerry:
I am upgrading some desktops from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. They have MS Office 2000 installed with the latest service packs. After I upgraded them to Win2000, I rebooted and logged on as a user. I got the following Office error: "This application must be installed to run. Please run setup from the location where you originally installed the application." If I log as administrator, everything runs fine. What has happened?

Forward thinking: Go to cyberspace to shame kids
![]()
Is the Web the woodshed of the 21st century (as in the woodshed of yore where kids learned the hard way to obey their parents)? A father in the U.K. -- sick and tired of his children's bad behavior -- has set up an Internet site so he can read his kids the riot act. Dave Forward has posted righteous rants on the site that pillory his kids and their friends for everything from taking drugs to cruising and cursing. "British society is going to the dogs; all around us are foul-mouthed obnoxious children like my son," he writes. Ouch! He's not exactly Mike Brady or Ward Cleaver, but we'll let you know if the Web of shame sets the young Forward straight.
