    >> MS releases prices for Windows Server 2003
The word is out. Microsoft last week released the retail price list for its much-anticipated Windows Server 2003. One industry watcher says the cost of the new product won't make much of a dent in the wallets of large companies, but SMBs will feel the pinch.
    >> AD migration tool leads admins out of the forest
Aelita Software says it has developed a tool that helps eliminate one of the most painful parts of the Active Directory migration process: moving from one forest to another. Think of it as a way to see the forest for the trees.
    >> SMS 2.0 feature pack swats bugs
Microsoft has released a new Software Update Services feature pack for its Systems Management Server 2.0. One expert says the feature pack will help administrators thwart devastating attacks, like the recent SQL Slammer worm.

    Tip of the Week:
Little strikes fear into the heart of a system administrator like booting a Windows 2000 computer and being greeted with the prompt 'Missing Operating System'. The first conclusion people often jump to is that the OS partition has been formatted or destroyed, or the partition table itself has become corrupted. While this is indeed possible, it is rarely the main reason for such an error.
