LEAD STORY
'We're not moving SMS to storage,' exec says  (SearchWin2000.com)
Customers of Microsoft's management software products need not panic because of a recent shuffle in Redmond, a company official says. Enterprise management executive David Hamilton says that SMS, MOM and other products will not become storage add-ons; their corporate minders will simply have a boss from storage.

THE MISSING LINK
Profile of a virus writer: He's one lonely young geek

Here's a shock: the author of Klez probably does not look like Pamela Lee. And it's doubtful that the person who gave us Nimda changes out girlfriends like Hugh Hefner. The CEO of antivirus firm Sophos has nailed down the demographic of your average Joe virus writer: he's a 14- to 34-year-old guy who's obsessed with computers, has no names in his "little black book" (if he even has one), and couldn't socialize his way out of a paper bag. But he knows how to make IT squirm. So maybe in addition to, say, a firewall, your security strategy should include something more organic -- like getting one of these lonely code monkeys a girlfriend.
