Turnaround time on new RPC worm could be short (SearchSecurity.com)
Security experts said previous flaws in Windows Remote Procedure Call could facilitate creation of a new worm exploiting additional flaws in RPC revealed on Wednesday.

MS announces Windows XP update package (Bink.nu)
Microsoft has issued a beta package of security updates for Windows XP. The new Update Rollup 1 puts together 22 previously released critical and security updates for XP. The beta test of the update package lasts until Sept. 24, and general availability is expected shortly after that date.
