THE MISSING LINK
Nuns poor, chaste and wired

They may take vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, but that doesn't mean the Poor Clare nuns can't go elf bowling. The sisters of this Irish order, which has been around for nearly 800 years, have gone online and launched a Web site, www.poorclares.ie (after centuries of monastic living, you'd think even an answering machine would be a radical step). Until now, the only way the nuns could offer spiritual guidance to the outside world was through iron bars at their monastery in Galway. Their newly wired status will help them reach a bigger audience. And besides, they'll learn the joys of Google.
