WINDOWS WORD CHALLENGE
Application that searches for jargon
This is a software application that searches documents for jargon, overworked terms and unnecessarily complicated sentences. The program, which can be run in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint on Office 2000 or XP systems, works like familiar spell-check and grammar-check programs. The program includes a 350-word dictionary and provides users with the ability to add their own terms.

IT SURVIVAL KIT
A space saving idea
Once you've tested a given hotfix and found it to be working perfectly, you can either move or delete the backup files. Over time, the accumulation of backup files can put a dent in the free space the system directory uses.

FEATURED TOPIC

THE MISSING LINK
Not Sasquatch -- the National Beard Registry!

We all know that the Net has a good side and a dark side. But let's not forget the hairy, Grizzly Adamsy side: www.nationalbeardregistry.org. It's a site with pictures of men putting their best facial hair forward. No close shaves here. A hirsute computer programmer and Web developer in Florida started the site not only to show that the beard is beautiful, but also to encourage men everywhere to "resist conformity, corporate culture and androgyny" (as well as razors). Are the beardos splitting hairs with www.ratemymullet.com? Stay tuned.
