HOW TO USE NON-MICROSOFT DNS FOR AD | By James Michael Stewart

DNS has been around for a long time -- in fact, much longer than
Active Directory. As you are well aware, AD relies upon DNS for much
of its name resolution activities. While Windows 2000 Server and
Windows Server 2003 include reliable and robust DNS services that are
directly and automatically integrated into AD when deployed together,
you don't have to use Microsoft's DNS to deploy an AD domain.

SEIZE THE DAY (WITH FSMOs)| by James Michael Stewart

All too often you'll find yourself in the position of needing to
forcibly move the FSMO roles when the current host server is offline.
The act of forcibly moving the FSMO to a new server host is called
seizing. Seizing an FSMO role should only be performed in extreme
circumstances. Your primary FSMO role server host should be
permanently inaccessible, offline, or irreparably damaged. If the
original FSMO host is ever returned to the network, there can be some
serious problems to deal with.

FORCE DOMAIN CHANGES | Tim Fenner

If you make a change to your Active Directory domain, such as
deleting a computer/user account, you don't have to wait for Active
Directory's replication schedule to occur before having that change
replicate to all of your other domain controllers. You can force the
replication to occur with a few simple steps.
