By itself, Group Policy can bring structure to any Active Directory environment. However, when paired with Policy Maker, Group Policy's management capabilities are literally doubled to provide total control of desktops and servers in an extensible way that is fully sanctioned by Microsoft. The only way to allow them to change power schemes is to grant them administrator access. However, many administrators balk at doing this. Most people are used to drive letters rather than the servershare naming convention (referred to as UNC shares) and some programs won't recognize UNC shares, either. >> CLICK for the full tip: http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/infoCenter/tip/0,294276,sid1_gci921156_tax294659,00.html?track=NL-120 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= LOADING THE 'SERVER' SERVICE IN WIN2K PRO | Ask Jerry Honeycutt Dear Jerry, I am running Windows 2000 Professional. Under services, I don't see the "Server" service. I know it should be listed, but for some reason it isn't. I need to know what steps I need to take to get this service loaded. >> CLICK for Jerry Honeycutt's expert response: http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid1_cid557627_tax293054,00.html?track=NL-120 Want more tips like this one?
