It's hard to believe that Microsoft is already starting to talk about the end of life for Windows 2000 Server. So many enterprises have barely gotten this software up and running after first planning for and working the software into the budget, then struggling through the setup of Active Directory.
So many large companies still have tons of NT machines but Microsoft is determined to get everyone on Windows Server 2003, the latest version of its software server, which was released last April. While there is still plenty of time before Windows 2000 Server draws its last breath (extended support doesn't end until March 2007), it will be interesting to see customer reaction as some of
these initial dates start to grow near. The first, by the way, is April 1, 2004, when the software ceases to become available in the channel.
Tell us your plans for your Windows 2000 Server implementation. Will this news hasten your upgrade to Windows Server 2003?

Antispam bill: Savior or toothless wonder?
We now have a national "do not call" list to protect us from those loathsome telemarketing calls at dinnertime. A "do not spam" law, to protect us from those loathsome round-the-clock junk e-mails, may not be far behind, if President Bush signs the bill that Congress passed this week. But are we really getting what's advertised here? |

| Tip of the Week: Manage distribution lists in Exchange 2000 |
| In Exchange 5.5, managing a distribution list from the Outlook client requires the administrator to assign his or her mailbox as the owner of the distribution list.
