CHAPTER OF THE WEEK
Administering file and print servers
File and print servers are two key reasons why a company runs a network. To keep these servers humming, you need to perform a number of administrative tasks. This chapter from the book Windows Server 2003 Pocket Administrator, by Danielle and Nelson Ruest, examines what they are and why some practices make more sense than others.

In addition, we challenge you to test your skills by taking our new Know-IT-All Chapter Quiz. Share your results with us and you may win a copy of this week's featured book. Download the Chapter of the Week above and then click here to take the quiz.

THE MISSING LINK
And the dishonor goes to VeriSign

Britain's Net industry has named its villain of the year. The winning loser? Envelope, please -- it's VeriSign! Why does the master of Internet domains get such a dubious honor? The Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) cursed the company with this award because of VeriSign's practice of hijacking users who mistype Web site names and redirecting them to a VeriSign site, where they can buy the domain that they didn't mean to type in the first place. VeriSign basically tried to sell typos! The company has since stopped. ISPA's favorite good guy? The Spamhaus Project's Steve Linford, for his tireless work as a spam killer.
