Microsoft NAS push gets triple boost

Microsoft's feature pack for consolidating data from Exchange Server 2003 on NAS devices running Windows Storage Server 2003 is now available to all. EMC, Dell and HP are three OEMs that plan to offer the pack on their NAS products.

Judge orders MS to look for e-mail evidence

Burst.com's antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft now turns to e-mails within Redmond. A federal judge in Baltimore has ordered MS to look for evidence that Jim Allchin told employees not to archive their e-mails. The alleged order from Allchin took place in 2000, when MS was dealing with several lawsuits -- if it's proven true, it could have ramifications in other cases against MS.

Study: Execs believe most jobs should stay onshore

The honeymoon may not be over, but according to a recent study, IT execs are now seeing offshore outsourcing without makeup. In other words, they're seeing through the glossy sheen of cost savings and realizing what's underneath isn't always pretty.

When Gov. Schwarzenegger coughs, people listen. And when he takes a few sucks off a cough drop and throws it away, some people drop what they're doing and head for the trash can. A man said he had retrieved the slightly used celebrity lozenge after he saw the governor trash it during a public event. He put it up on eBay and advertised it as "Schwarzenegger's DNA," as if someone might want to clone him one day. But the auction site yanked the ad; eBay said this violated its "no body parts" clause, which we now know applies to double helixes, as well as major internal organs.
