ASK THE EXPERT:  Can network users change their passwords without having to logon locally?
Dear Laura:
I am using a Windows 2000 server as a standalone server. When I create user accounts I would like to allow network users to change their passwords, without having to logon locally. How can I do this?
Read Laura Hunter's expert response.

TIP:  Standalone memory testing for workstations and servers
Diagnosing memory-related problems can be one of the most difficult tasks for an administrator. Bad memory can cause random, inexplicable system failures with no consistent cause or resolution. This tip provides some advice on standalone memory tests.

The Missing Link

The Web's knight in surfing armor
[Reuters]
Friday was a long day's journey into knighthood for Tim Berners-Lee. Queen Elizabeth II knighted him for that handy little invention of his -- the World Wide Web. Berners-Lee now adds knight commander -- the second-highest rank of the Order of the British Empire -- to his list of accolades. You may call him Sir Berners-Lee, but don't call him surly -- he used the regal occasion to thank everyone who had helped him with his creation.
