The Missing Link

iPod therefore I am ... a freshman at Duke
[Associated Press]
The rest of us probably would have been happy to get a used Walkman in college. This fall, Duke University is doling out free iPods to incoming freshmen. This isn't just about downloading Strokes songs -- Duke iPods will also carry important school info and will have the ability to download academic content, as well as the all-important school fight song. At the very least, the frosh freebies could deter Duke's basketball recruits from jumping directly to the NBA, which only offers newcomers millions of dollars.
