Windows Server 2003 R2 beta invitations issued

Microsoft will begin a second test of Windows Server 2003 R2 in early December. Invitations to participate in the beta were recently sent to those who took part in the first test.
XP test leads to UK government crash

About 40,000 desktops in the UK's Department of Work and Pensions crashed during testing for an upgrade to Windows XP. Rather than roll out the upgrade from Windows 2000 to a test environment, it was inadvertantly rolled out across the network.
