Make flora, not trash -- company turns phones to phlowers
[Reuters]
It's
a question that has nagged mankind since Alexander wasn't all that
great -- how to make a cell phone more like a Chia Pet. The answer is starting to blossom, thanks to a Dutch company. Pvaxx Research & Development has developed a biodegradable plastic at Motorola's request. Researchers in Britain have taken the environmentally correct material, which also makes for some tasty plant food, and thrown a sunflower seed into the mix. Now they're hoping big companies like Motorola will use the flower-powered plastic for their mobile phone covers.
