This may come off as heretical to suggest here, but if there's not that much
momentum to hold a separate event, what about holding NWPD concurrently with
the Seattle Code Camp? That way Python is exposed to a wider group of folks
and encourages mingling. :-)

Subject: [SEAPY] NW Python Day status

There are 40 attendees and 5 talk proposals on the wiki.  This is
pretty low so if you've been meaning to sign up, now is the time to.
The proposal deadline is Thursday, although at this point it looks
like we might have space for latecomers (but don't be a latecomer :)
).

I'm not sure if the low turnout is due to the holidays or because it's
so close to PyCon.  Normally the turnout and talks have always gone
higher at every event.
