SeaPIG,
On Saturday, from 4-5 PM, Jigsaw Renaissance is hosting "bits"
presentations --
Basically, if you want to give a 5-minute presentation on something
programming related, this is an opportunity to do so!
I'm forwarding the notice that Willow sent out.
Take care,
Lion
-----
Open House: 11-4
Flash Talks: 4-5
Come show off your projects, meet Jigsaw members, and have a good time!
Orientation tours of Jigsaw at 12 and 2 - learn about use of space, current
events, and tell us about yourselves! At 1 and 3, Willow will also give
orientations for Open Atrium and Yammer, Jigsaw's communication tools.
...Flash Talks:
What: Ten five minute talks on a wide variety of subjects in an hour. Focus
on the bits section of our atoms, bits, and neurons - electronics and
coding!
When: Third Saturdays, after Open House
New to Jigsaw? New to DIY spaces? This is a great way to see what's going on
and meet some new folks who are working on some amazing projects.
Presenters - this is your opportunity to float new ideas or get help and
feedback on a project. It's also a great opportunity to test out your
elevator pitch without having to prepare for a formal conference or
workshop.
The "short and sweet" format is believed to have started as CCC's Lightning
Talks. Other groups have followed suit such as KDa's Pecha Kucha,
Noisebridge's Five Minutes of Fame, and Ignite.
