I'm thinking we should have more topic-based meetings like the web frameworks one. Either with one speaker or several speakers, but starting from more of a question. Starting from what somebody wants to learn, or a general topic such as web frameworks or databases. That may be more fruitful than waiting for speakers to offer talks, and it's something we haven't really done much before.
Kevin LaTona suggested a session on OAuth and knows a non-Python speaker who could do part of it. That topic in itself may be too narrow but we could expand it a bit into security in general. Geremy gave a talk a few months ago on security/encryption in the Python library, and we've had a couple follow-up discussions on that since then. I don't want to repeat the exact same topic but maybe we could look at something in between the Python library and social-network protocols. If so, what along those lines would people like to hear about or speak about? -- Mike Orr <[email protected]>
