I posted the outline of my web frameworks history talk on the meeting page: http://seapig.org/June2011Notes
Feel free to edit the page to add details about the other talks and discussions, or to add your name to the attendance list. July's meeting will be on Wednesday again, July 13th, at BigDoor. We decided that a cool basement room during the hot summer is a good thing. Several topics for future meetings were proposed. The following topics have organizers: - Plone and Zope - Parallel Programming: RabbitMQ, Celery, etc The following topics need organizers: - Dealing with large data sets (this could be another NumPy talk) - Security (this could be a follow-up to the Python security talk) - Packaging (pip, easy_install, Setuptools, distutils2, etc) I think the Parallel Programming session would be a good one for next month, so as not to have two web sessions back to back. Does that sound doable? For the topics without organizers, we need somebody to decide the agenda and format, and to give a talk or recruit speaker(s) for it, and to guide the discussion. A financial note: the annual SeaPIG ISP bill has come. It's $240, of which I still need to raise $220. I forgot to mention it at the meeting, and I'm having trouble with my PayPal account. So if you want to contribute, you can email me and I'll give you my address and you can send a check, or you can pay at the July meeting. The SeaPIG server is a virtual server at Linode.com. -- Mike Orr <[email protected]>
