We met at BigDoor today, and James Cooper and John deRosa gave a talk
on parallel programming. 21 people attended. The speakers compared
``multiprocessing``, Redis, Celery, and MapReduce.

We raised $131 toward the SeaPIG server bill. Thank you everybody.
That leaves just $81 outstanding.

I asked for topics for future meetings October-ish, and people
suggested BioPython (gene-sequencing software), Sage (mathematical
software), MatPlotLib (for drawing plots), and a repeat of the Intro
to NumPy talk (for multidimensional arrays like matrices). We don't
seem to have experts in the group for the first two but we have a
couple leads on outside speakers.
