I've got plenty of personal projects to work on.
But for while now I have been thinking that SeaPig's website could use
a refresh to make it a little bit more hip and elegant looking on the
UI side of things.
Maybe we could this use Tornado, Flask or Pyramid as a backend
framework.
Redo parts of the site's UI on the frontside with some nice HTML and a
bit of jQuery.
And still use the wiki for the other parts of the site where the wiki
is really needed and best used.
The idea of the wiki makes lots of sense in that allows many people to
update info as needed without having their hand held.
Yet in my book it sure would be nice to have a more elegant looking UI
on all that data.
I still think it's possible to keep the idea of allowing folks to self
admin and update parts of the site.
So is any one else interested in talking about what ideas are possible.
We would have to present them to the seaPig leadership at a latter date?
But it's something to think about.
And it could be a fun project for a small group of us to work on and
have an impact on the group overall.
Plus if turns out well we could stick it up on github for other Python
user groups to grab and use.
So all of us are not having to be reinventing the user group's website
wheel.
Let me know if you have any interest in the idea?

There will be a:
SeaPIG Coding Evening
this Monday, April 23
6pm - 9pm
(Show & Tell from 8:30 - 9:00)
At Office Nomads, 1617 Boylston Ave., 2nd floor.
All are welcome ... bring a computer and an idea for something in
Python you
would like to work on, individually or in a group. Novices can go
through a
tutorial or grab a sample project idea.
I'll be working on the Pyramid or Pylons Users guide, unless something
more interesting to collaborate on comes up.
