University of Washington Professional and Continuing Education (UW PCE) is currently seeking an experienced Python user to teach System Development with Python this spring, including the following topics/content areas:
* Unit Testing * The Python debugger pdb * Advanced Object Oriented programming * Relational databases, SQL * Non-relational databases * Numerical Computation * Threading/Multiprocessing * Performance/Profiling It is possible to bring in one or two guest speakers if an area listed is not your strong suit. In addition to providing the above content, this course provides students with the opportunity to develop a large project with the instructor's guidance. The audience for this course is a group of up to 20 software testers working for a company located in the Pioneer Square area of Seattle. The training room will be on site. The course will begin in early April and run one night a week from 6-9 PM for 10 weeks. The exact start date and day of the week is negotiable. The time commitment involved will be approximately 15 hours a week, including class time. The qualified candidate will be able to: * Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Python programming and system development * Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning, and employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students. Previous teaching experience and current industry experience is preferred.
