I went and I enjoyed it. :)
It was nice to meet other folks and get introduced to mob programming.

There was a driver and navigator and we physically moved every 5 minutes or
so. I've done python programming since last Aug, but this was my first time
looking at Qt and PyQt. I like it.
Some things I learned:

1. It was surprisingly easy to start collaborating with new people once the
problem was defined.
2. We had sample code as a starting point, and though we didn't get very
far before I had to leave, it was good to experiment. Experiementing was
easy with so many folks. It was also easy to ask questions. It was a good
group.
3. I also realized I'm so accustomed to my dev environment. Having the
right tools, the right keyboard layout for the shortcuts, small things I
don't normally thing about, but I missed them when they were missing.

This would be a good opportunity to do volunteer coding. Work on a small
open source problem, it serves as a good learning opportunity, and you get
to contribute to something. I personally like social ventures like Mifos
(Grameen Foundation) and OpenMRS (used by Partners in Health).

I'll try to make it to the Downtown Seattle venue once a month, every week
is defintely a challenge.

Best,
Jasmine
