I notice that under RHL 7.1, whenever using rp3 to bring up interface ppp0, I
get entries into /var/log/messages about su(pam_unix) sessions being opened
and closed for both my wife and me.

Here is what I have in my log file:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if I use "ifup ppp0" from the command line, I get about the same output.

Two things I'm curious about: 1. What would be all the su sessions? and 2. Why
does it complain about "Can't locate module ppp0"? Wouldn't the PPP modules
just be ppp_async and ppp_generic?

Thanks!

-Michael

No, my friend, the way to have good and safe government, is not to trust it
all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to every one exactly
the functions he is competent to. It is by dividing and subdividing these
republics from the national one down through all its subordinations, until it
ends in the administration of every man's farm by himself; by placing under
every one what his own eye may superintend, that all will be done for the
best.
