Is "regular" rpm upgrade of glibc absolutely safe? My experienced associates
say that glibc upgrades should only be done in single-user mode, and wrote a
neat script which generates a startup script, then restarts the computer; the
startup script then installs the rpms during startup, and deletes the rpms
and startup script. Is single-user mode safer for glibc upgrade? Is such a
startup script a recommended or preferred method?

Bob
