I used to run 2 procs (pentium pro 200's) in my server many moons ago,
until i lost one due to overheating and a bad fan. I since replaced it
recently while running linux-2.4.3-12 and did an RPM install of the smp
kernel (i.e. kernel-smp-2.4.3-12) and now when i reboot, it sees the
second proc, but locks up the system after a period of time. This is an
RPM install, no special tweaks or the like either via kernel tuning or
via a kernel rebuild. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to
determine and hopefully correct this problem? I would like to get the
second chip in place and used but without the smp kernel i am afraid i
am stuck.

ANY clues, hints, suggestions, etc, would be most welcome.
