| This requires you to be root, though. In general, 'su' and 'sudo' have
| many options you will want to look into. But it is doable.
Hard to make interactive stuff do the right thing with such methods.
Another approach would be to have the test user's .profile say:
logfile=$HOME/.log-`date '+%Y-%m-%d-%H:%M:%S'`
exec script -a $logfile
right at the bottom. That would get you a transcript of every log session.
I do this routinely when building things from source, see:

I find it very handy for tracking such things. Combined with a
trap history 0
in the .bashrc it's pretty neat, and very easy.
