Hello Camilo,

        Concerning Ltmodems, here is a good WEB page I tried when
        attempting to make my "Lucent AMR Soft modem" work under
        RH-7.1 Linux :

            http://www.physcip.uni-stuttgart.de/heby/ltmodem/

        Back to the sound support stuff, I have this config :

Intel 810 + AC97 Audio, version 0.02, 20:52:34 Apr  8 2001
ac97_codec: AC97 Audio codec, id: 0x4352:0x5934 (Cirrus Logic CS4299 rev D)

% cat /etc/modules.conf
alias eth0 8139too
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias sound-slot-0 i810_audio
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null 2>
&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1
|| :
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
alias char-major-195 NVdriver
%

        Sometimes sound is well installed and configured but you can
        hardly hear anything from the loudspeakers (try running kmix
        and setup the output volume; then save the settings). B.T.W.
        sound works great on my Satellite 3000-400.

        Another WEB page I could suggest is that one (good ressource
        about Linux installs on several Toshiba laptop models) :

                http://www.linux-laptop.net/toshiba.html

        Let me know if it helps, best regards.
