Hi,
What video graphics driver are you using. If its SVGA and you have
module support turned on, you may have a little trouble.

Subject: XFree86 upgrade

> I downloaded XFree86 4.1 in an attempt to upgrade my
system. I followed the directions given on the site, and it installed
correctly. I used Xconfigure, and it returned and told me to xf86config (I
think) and then I got a window that acted like it was booting up, but
didn't, it just froze everytime.

don't think it's a dependency problem. What I do think is that it's the
links to the configuration scripts that I marked "no" to all through the
installation.

anything, it was probably ok to mark "no" to these. Has anyone successfully
installed this that can help me? I just reinstalled last night, so it's a
fresh installation of Red Hat 7.1
