Were trying to have X terms for 30 workstations. They are currently
trying to use True64 it is not working at all, processes are being droped
and everything is just bad. I think that we can do much better with linux.
I was just wondering if anyone is doing this out there and if so if you
could email me with the hardware setup your using. So that I can get some
sort of idea what kind of machine we need to do this. We are currently
thinking of using dual p3 1000, 1 gig of ram and 2 10,000 rpm scsi hard
drives set up with stripping raid for more IO. This is for a programiing
class so they dont need much for a desktop fvwm should do just fine but
im sure everyone will have a couple of term windows open and netscape a
a couple of applets running. We would like to use some of higher end
C/C++ developmental tools latter on. Do you think this is enough for
hardware or do we need more? Thank you for you input.
