Subject: Traceroute problem

Works on my system and that is with stock + all up2dates. When you login as
root are you logged into the console/gui as root itself or as another user
and you su'd? Did you use su or su - (with the dash) to do it?

Side Note: I ran this command and while it seemed to be working, it only had
*** *** *** for every hop up to the 10th which is where I stopped it. What
does that mean? Why didn't it show the ip's or hosts of each hop?

[root@homer /root]# rpm -q traceroute
traceroute-1.4a5-25
[root@homer /root]# traceroute mysticlovers.com
traceroute to mysticlovers.com (1.2.3.4), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets (ip
hidden to protect innocent)
 1 * * *
 2 * * *
 3 * * *
 4 * * *

On roswell it works just fine and displays the hosts/ip like it's suppose to
and was done to same box addy above.
[root@goober root]# rpm -q traceroute
traceroute-1.4a12-1
