Should I continue to respond for request for information on this list? I'll
shut up if there's a consensus.

Not much to say at this point that doesn't apprear below. Lots of
speculation, restating the obvious, and horrific pictures.

Anyone in the US able to update the UK? All airports grounded here; FTSE
stock exchange evacuated, as is Canary Wharf; Sears building in Chicago?
cnn.com is down, bbc is down, our digital satelite service website is down,
reuters unreachable...

Two airplaces crashed into the World Trade Center in NY about 15 min.
apart. Both towers subsequently collapsed. It is thought to be a terrorist
attack, but the PLO and a more radical Islamic group have denied
responsibility. Lower Manhattan is shrouded in dust and smoke. All airports
in the country have been closed. Another plane crashed into the west side of
the Pentagon, and there was another large plane that crashed 60 mi SE of
Pittsburgh. There are no figures on casualties and injuries; this is the
most massive disaster ever to hit the U.S.

Strange... never experienced this. Do you have a firewall installed?

BTW... could somebody in the US please explain what the hell is happening
there? Our information services are horrible, and we've contradictory
versions...

Subject: Traceroute problem

Hi,

If I use traceroute on my RH7.1 box I get an error:

traceroute: sendto: Opperation not permitted

I am logged in as root.

Is this a known problem?? Or am I doing something wrong???

Regards, Koos.
