Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the following means:
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1
Sep 16 21:05:42 tigger modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-0

I am getting these and the sound card is intermittant at best.
I also am getting "Sound: Recording overrun" errors. Am I missing some module?

Does anyone know what are /dev/radio* devices for? the machine keeps
complaining it cannot load the module for char-major 81 which is the
radio devices?

Also any idea what char-Major 143 is? I do not even see that in /dev.
Is there a list of these somewhere? There must be I would think.

I know I can turn them off but I just want to make sure that these errors
are part of the problem with my sound card.

FYI the sound card is an old isa sb16. I do not think you can get any more
generic than that.

This almost seems like some sort of kde thing. If I log out of kde and run
sndconfig it plays the test sounds. If I login to kde the welcome tune
plays and then sndconfig or real player or whatever cannot access the
sound card.

Any ideas?
