A while ago (couple months), I suddenly stopped getting audio from my CDs. I
don't think anything has changed. The system's case was closed (I since
openned it and it looks like the CD-audio card cable is intact). I didn't do
any sound-related config between when it worked and when it didn't.

I have an SB Live and an IDE HP CDR.

Seawolf is the only OS on the system so I can't boot up something else to
determine if it's hardware or Linux.

Is there any small bootable disk I can maybe boot with to try playing a CD
from? I tried the Menuet disk (it's a small OS written in Assembler) on
another box -- it's supposed to play CDs, but I couldn't get the CD to be
detected on that other box and putting it in my main computer makes me
nervous.

Thanks for any ideas!
