Hi they're...

Some while back I was having to temporarily maintain some Hewlett
Packard machines and was asked to set some privileges up for a user, I think
it related to RealTime processing and Shared Memory issues. If I remember
rightly, I stuck the instructions in one of the rc startup files.

E.g setprivgrp user RTPRIO ......

Now that I am an ordinary bod, I am getting an ioctl permission denied error
and wondered if it was possible to set similar privileges on a Linux system.

Any suggestions gratefully received...

        Andy
