I downloaded and compiled the 2.4.9 kernel earlier today. I finish the
compilation, make the necessary adjustments to /etc/lilo.conf, run lilo
and reboot. At the lilo prompt it said 'booting 2.4.9', but when I got
to the login screen it reported that I was still on 2.4.4.
Is this a labeling problem, or did I miss a step. I have compiled my
kernel many times using this method, and never had any problems.
I can attach the instructions I followed should anyone need to see them
to answer my question. Thanks.
