Hi all.

This is not a problem.. just a wish..
I have to install amanda on one server of mine and I didn't know the
tapetype i had to use. In some HOWTO found on the web, they say :

[from http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda-12.html]
«If the media type is not listed and there are no references to it in
the mailing list archives, go to the tape-src directory, make tapetype,
mount a scratch tape in the drive and run ./tapetype NAME DEV where NAME
is a text name for the media and DEV is the no-rewind tape device with
hardware compression disabled. This program rewinds the tape, writes
random data until it fills the tape, rewinds, and then writes random
data and tape marks until it fills the tape again. This can take a very
long time (hours or days). When finished, it generates a new tapetype
section to standard output suitable for adding to the amanda.conf file.
Post the results to the amanda-users mailing list so others may benefit
from your effort.»

The fact is that "tapetype" is not inside the i386.rpm packages.. Could
RH include it ? It may be a useful not to get the src.rpm, and not to
untargz, ./configure & make -C tape-src tapetype ..
Should i bugzilla this ?
