I posted once before about trying to use RH7.1 with upgraded kernel to 2.4.7. Now on
2.4.10, the same Kudzu problem that prevents bootup with Kudzu in chkconfig 'on'
remains. However, I now have the exciting feature that if I press the 'CAPS LOCK' key
during a regular run-mode3 terminal session, I freeze my system in multi-user mode.

I've got a COMPAQ 1850R server with a Belkin PS/2 4 port KVM. I've tried swapping out
KVM cables and have plugged the keyboard and mouse in directly, but no change.

I wonder if the "/dev/..." for mouse or keyboard as would have been installed by
Seawolf CD's would be problematic for kernel 2.4.7=>2.4.10?

strace on kudzu yields output until:

--snip
open("/proc/bus/usb/devices",O_RONLY)=-1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("/dev/psaux",O_RDRW|O_NONBLOCK
--snip

System hangs as this output scrolls to the screen.
I could go mouseless on this machine, but I'm really freaked that I can't press the
'caps lock' key - even accidentally
(No, I'm not making this up!)

I'd be willing to believe that the hardware is getting old, but is there anything to
verify in Linux before I start down the hardware checklist?

Thanks,
Dave.
