Yesterday, I downloaded and installed sendmail 8.12.1 from http://www.sendmail.org It compiled easily by following the installation instructions. However by following these step-by-step directions, dbm support wasn't compiled in.
So I specified hash for the appropriate features in the sendmail.mc file and also when mapping the virtual users table to the .db file.
