Hmmm. This sounds like what I saw a couple of days ago and yesterday. The frist lockup was nasty - I could not log back into my home account and ended up deleting ALL my user files and restoring all but the initial files that were loaded when I did the install. Yesterday, my machine locked up, with graphics on the monitor. I could ping the machine, but could not ssh into it, nor do a 'CTL-ALT-BACKSPACE' or anything from the keyboard. > > I don't want to just kill it. This behaviour started right after I upgraded util-linux and openssh. I have downgraded the util-linux package, and if my machine locks up again, I will downgrade openssh, to see if that fixes the problem. Did you upgrade util-linux?
