You need to add a default gateway.  What does `route` show?  If you don't
have a default gateway, use linuxconf/webmin, or add an entry in
/etc/sysconfig/network:

GATEWAY=1.2.3.4  (your gateway address)
GATEWAYDEV=eth0  (your gateway device)
