Hello,

yes, the resolv.conf files are the same, I edted them by hand on both machines

The only other (yes, important) difference is that the working machine has minimal
setup, the other not working has almost everything (KDE, Gnome, and then some)

That's why I hypotized firewall problems..

As far as multiple posting goes, I was and am forced by now to use the WEBMAIL
interface of my ISP, which royally sucks. I apologize, but nothing else available now.


Any suggestion is appreciated: the sooner I fix this, the sooner I go back to old 
Mutt!!
