Ive been having no end of problems with my SB Live 5.1 and Value on seawolf, It locks the whole pc, the sound crashes on certain apps, in differnet window managers as well and locks the sound (so I get a constant high pitch drone), this never happened on the 2.2 kernels at all, only on the 2.4, but I want some of the functionally of the 2.4 for some other stuff I use.
So I removed the SB cards and put in a cheap Yamaha card, voila no more lockups or anything, I will try the latest creative emu101k drivers when I get home from work, but can anyone recommend another sound card with of the same quality as the SB Lives.
