Which version of XFS did you install? 

I assume you also got the SGI-XFS kernel source? XFS is part of the
kernel, but not currently part of RedHat 7.1.

If you installed XFS 1.0, it enables devfs by default, and I had trouble
with the CDROM and sound card until I turned devfs off. XFS-1.0.1
disable devfs by default, because so many people did not like it.
